Workshops and classes are designed for students that are beginners (“I’ve never tried this before”), intermediate (I’ve tried something similar and feel confident about this medium) or advanced (I have done a lot of this but not using this technique). Acrylic painting classes - for beginners to intermediate

Acrylic Painting

This workshop takes you through everything you need to know to start a painting using high quality pigment acrylic paints. Use of different acrylic mediums and brush types will be explored. Students will receive a small 10” square canvas to complete.

Class: Half day, beginners (3.5 hours)

Size: 3-4 students maximum

Copper plate etching - for intermediate to advance printmakers

Copper plate etching

The finest details can be seen using copper plate etching. It is a technique which requires a good understanding of printmaking to achieve optimum results. Students will be taken through processes to etch into the copper, ink it (using intaglio process) and then print on archival paper using the studio etching press. Copper plate is the hardiest material and can be used to produce 100+ prints from the one plate.

Class: 2 day class, experienced etchers only

Size: 3 students maximum

Dry point etching - a great start for beginner printmakers

Dry point etching

One of the easiest printmaking processes and one that requires the least amount of equipment. Using a plastic plate and an etching tool, students will create an image and then ink it up ready for printing on the studio etching press on archival paper. Dry point is a great way to be carefree and creative with the etching process.

Class: Full day, beginners to intermediate (5.5 hours)

Size: 3-4 students maximum

Cost: $160 (All materials included)
